The Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of South Kalimantan Province, together with the SDGs Center team from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Concept of Implementing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to Support the Acceleration of Achieving the SDGs on Friday, September 12, 2025. This event took place in the Thamrin Meeting Room, 1st floor of the Bappeda office in South Kalimantan Province, and was attended by various stakeholders representing government, academia, and the business sector.

This FGD is held as part of efforts to integrate the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program with regional development direction. Through this forum, Bappeda and the SDGs Center ULM encourage the involvement of the business world in supporting the acceleration of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in South Kalimantan in a more targeted, inclusive, and sustainable manner.

The discussion focused on determining priority programs, establishing strategic locations, and selecting CSR focus areas that align with community needs. Additionally, this forum also addressed a new concept for the implementation of CSR, which is expected to strengthen the synergy between local government, academia, and the private sector. Thus, each CSR program is not just a formality, but truly provides optimal benefits for the community and the environment.

Through this activity, it is hoped that a clear and measurable framework will be established for businesses to channel their CSR programs. The alignment between regional development goals and SDG targets serves as the main foundation, so that business contributions can have a real impact on improving the welfare of the people in South Kalimantan while also preserving the environment.
